Web search
When Ziva needs something that is not in Godot’s own docs, it searches the web instead of guessing. That helps with third-party plugins such as GodotSteam or Dialogic, Godot versions newer than the model knows, and errors other people have already solved on forums and GitHub.
Web search is available on Pro and Ultra with Ziva’s built-in models.
How to use it
Ask your question the way you normally would, for example:
- “Add Steam achievements with GodotSteam.”
- “How do I use the Dialogic plugin?”
- “Fix this error:” followed by the error text.
- “Read https://… and set it up in my project.”
Ziva decides when a search is needed. You see a Searched the web for line in the chat with links to the pages it read, then the answer. When you paste a link, or a search result needs a closer look, Ziva opens that page and you see a Read web page line.
Turn it off
Web search is on by default. To turn it off, open Settings → Pro Features and, under Web Search, switch off Search the web. Ziva then answers without searching the web or opening pages.
Privacy
Only the search text Ziva writes and the links it opens are sent to our search provider. Your project files are not sent. Ziva reads the top few results and uses them in the conversation like any other tool result.
Troubleshooting
Ziva never searches. Check that you are on Pro or Ultra, that Search the web is on in Settings → Pro Features, and that you are using one of Ziva’s built-in models. Asking directly (“search the web for…”) also works.
“Web search needs Pro” card. Your account is on Hobby or Basic. Click Upgrade to Pro, or turn off Search the web in Settings → Pro Features to stop the card.
“Weekly spending limit exceeded.” or “Monthly spending limit exceeded.” You have reached your plan’s limit for this week or month. Wait for the reset shown in your account, or upgrade.
“Web search is unavailable right now.” The search provider did not answer. Try again in a moment.
“Couldn’t open …” The page does not exist or blocks automated readers. Paste the text into the chat instead.
