Memories

Ziva remembers what it learns about your project and how you like to work. Tell it something once, and new chats start already knowing it.

Memories are on by default with ZivaCode models. There’s nothing to set up.

How to use it

Just talk to Ziva as usual. It saves things worth remembering on its own, and you can also ask directly:

• “Remember that player movement always goes in _physics_process, never _process.”
• “Remember that I’m new to Godot, so explain what you change.”
• “Forget what you saved about the old inventory system.”

When Ziva saves or forgets something, you’ll see a Saved memory or Forgot memory line in the chat. Saving a memory never touches your project files.

Example

On Monday you tell Ziva: “Always use typed GDScript in this project.” On Friday you open a new chat and ask for an enemy script. Ziva writes it with types, without being reminded.

What Ziva remembers

• Your preferences: how you like code written, how much explanation you want
• Corrections: things you told Ziva to do differently, and why
• Project decisions: goals and choices that aren’t obvious from the files, like “we’re targeting mobile, keep draw calls low”
• Useful links: where to find your design doc, task board, or other references

Ziva doesn’t save things it can already see in your project or your AGENTS.md, or details that only matter to the current chat.

See, edit, or delete memories

• Ask Ziva: “What do you remember about this project?”
• Open the folder: go to Settings → Agent and click Open memory folder. Each memory is a plain text file you can read or edit.
• Forget one thing: ask Ziva to forget it.
• Forget everything: click Delete all memories in Settings → Agent. This can’t be undone.

Privacy

• Memories are saved on your computer, not in your project folder.
• They aren’t committed to git or shared with your teammates.
• Each project has its own memories.
• Like the rest of your chat, memories are sent to the AI model so it can use them.

Turn memories off

Go to Settings → Agent and switch off Enable memories. Ziva stops reading and saving memories. Anything already saved stays on your computer until you delete it.

If a memory turns into a rule your whole team should follow, move it into AGENTS.md.

Troubleshooting

Ziva didn’t use something I just told it. New memories apply from your next chat. Start one with /new.
