Fork a chat

Start a new chat from any point in a conversation to try another direction without losing the original.

Fork from a response

1. Hover a finished response and click Fork from here.
2. Ziva opens a new chat titled with (fork) that contains the conversation up to that response.
3. Send your next message to continue from there.

A Forked from line marks where the copy ends and links back to the original chat, which stays unchanged.

What a fork changes

Forking copies the conversation only. Your project files stay as they are now, so the fork continues from your current project, not from the files as they were at that response.

Undo and Retry work on messages you send after the fork. To undo changes from earlier responses, use the original chat.

Forking is available on every plan and with every model.

Privacy

Forked chats are stored locally in your project data, like any other chat.

Troubleshooting

Fork from here is grayed out. Wait for Ziva to finish the current response, then try again.

This response can’t be forked. The chat was saved without the history Ziva needs to continue it, for example by an older version. Start a new chat instead.
