Keyboard shortcuts
Use shortcuts for common actions while the Ziva dock or main screen tab is focused. Click inside Ziva first. When you return to another Godot panel, its keyboard input stays with Godot.
| Action | Windows and Linux | macOS |
|---|---|---|
| Toggle chat sidebar | Ctrl+B | Cmd+B |
| Open model picker | Ctrl+Shift+M | Cmd+Shift+M |
| New chat | Ctrl+N | Cmd+N |
| Open Ziva settings | Ctrl+, | Cmd+, |
Shortcuts also work from the chat composer and while the chat sidebar is open. They pause while other dialogs, including Settings and confirmations, are open so you can finish or cancel those dialogs first. New chat opens the same empty chat screen as the New chat button; it does not stop another chat’s running task.
Change a shortcut
- Open Settings, then Keyboard Shortcuts.
- Click the key combination beside an action and press your preferred combination. Include Ctrl, Cmd, or Alt.
- Press Esc to cancel, or Tab to leave without changing it. Moving focus away from the shortcut button also cancels recording.
Changes save immediately. A combination can belong to only one action. Clear or change the other action before reusing its shortcut.
Click Clear to disable one shortcut. Click Reset all shortcuts to restore the defaults for your operating system.
Troubleshooting
Nothing happens. Click inside Ziva, close any open dialog other than the chat sidebar, and check that the shortcut is assigned. Use the modifier shown in settings, and release extra modifiers. Release and press the keys again; holding a key does not repeat an action. Shortcuts are ignored during input-method composition and when AltGraph is active.
The operating system handles the combination first. Choose a different combination. System shortcuts may never reach Ziva.
A shortcut says it is already assigned. Clear or change the named action first, then record the combination again.
