Code blocks
Code blocks in Ziva’s replies show with syntax highlighting in the Ziva panel and in shared chats. In the Ziva panel, highlighting follows your editor’s light or dark theme.
Highlighted languages
Code blocks in these languages are highlighted:
- Godot: GDScript, Godot shaders (
.gdshader), scene and resource files (.tscn,.tres) - Engines and shaders: C#, C++, C, GLSL, HLSL, Unity ShaderLab
- Scripting: Python, Lua, JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, TSX, Java, Kotlin, Rust, Go
- Data and config: JSON, JSONC, YAML, TOML, INI, XML, HTML, CSS, Markdown, SQL, diffs
- Shell and build: Bash, sh, zsh, terminal sessions, PowerShell, batch files, Dockerfile, Makefile, CMake
Common short names work too, such as gd, cs, py, js, ts, yml, sh and md.
Files Ziva reads or creates
When Ziva reads a file, the result is highlighted for .gd, .gdshader, .cs, .tscn and .tres files. The preview you approve before Ziva creates a file is highlighted the same way. Other file types show as plain text. Files Ziva creates or edits show in the chat as a diff.
Other languages
Code in any other language shows as plain, readable text in the same code block. You can still copy it with the copy button.
Plan requirements
Code highlighting works on every plan and with every model.
Privacy
Highlighting runs on your computer, in the Ziva panel or, for shared chats, in your browser. Your code is not sent anywhere to be highlighted.
Troubleshooting
A code block shows as plain text. The language is not in the list above, or the reply did not name a language for the block. Ask Ziva to label the code block with its language, for example gdscript.
Highlighting appears a moment after the code. The first block after Ziva starts loads its language first. The text is readable right away, and later blocks highlight faster.
