Modes

Choose Default, Plan, or Ask mode based on whether you want Ziva to build, plan, or answer without changing your project.

Choose a mode

  1. Click the current mode name in the chat composer.
  2. Under Mode, choose Default, Plan, or Ask.
  3. Send your next message in the selected mode.

While the chat is idle, you can also type /default, /plan, or /ask as a standalone command. Type / to find them in the command picker.

What each mode does

  • Default - Read, edit and run: Ziva can inspect your project, create or edit files, and run available project tools.
  • Plan - Plan before editing: Ziva researches your request, asks questions when needed, presents a plan, and asks whether to implement or refine it before starting implementation.
  • Ask - Read-only: nothing is changed: Ziva can read and search your project, but it cannot edit files, run the project or tests, use the shell, or generate assets.

Approve a plan

When a plan is ready, choose Implement the plan to switch to Default mode and start work, Refine the plan to stay in Plan mode, or Tell Ziva what to change to add your own feedback.
