Playtesting

Ziva can run your game in the editor, interact with it, inspect the result, and catch problems before you continue building.

Run a quick check

  1. Ask Ziva to run a scene and describe what you expect to happen.
  2. Ziva opens it in the Game tab, can send input, captures the final screen, and reads runtime errors.
  3. Review the result, then ask Ziva to fix any issue and run the scene again.

Both Enable playtest tool and Enable the Full Game Playtest Agent are on by default under Settings → Agent.

Full Game Playtest Agent

For a deeper check, ask Ziva to use the Full Game Playtest Agent. It is available on Pro and Ultra, and only for Godot projects.

  1. Use Default mode and give it one checkable goal, the scene to start from, and any important constraints.
  2. The agent plays the game, inspects live state, and takes screenshots at useful checkpoints.
  3. It returns a pass, fail, or blocked verdict with evidence and reproduction steps.

The Full Game Playtest Agent reports what it finds. It does not edit your project.

Record a playtest

Recording is off by default and applies only to the Full Game Playtest Agent.

To turn it on, go to Settings → Agent and switch on Record playtests.

The video is saved as playtest.mp4 with the run evidence under .ziva/qa-runs/.

Privacy

The game runs on your computer. Screenshots used for visual inspection are sent to your selected model, while the run evidence and optional recording are saved in your project.

Troubleshooting

The playtest will not start. If you started the game yourself in the Game tab, stop it before asking Ziva to run it.

Record playtests cannot be switched on. Update or reinstall the Ziva plugin, then reopen Settings.
