Game Elevator Pitch Generator: One-Liner and Email

Describe your game's title, genre, core mechanic and what makes it different, and get an elevator pitch written for it: a one-liner every time, plus a 30-second spoken pitch and a publisher email intro if you want them. Writing the pitch needs a free Ziva account.

Step 1 of 3: The game

How to use it

  1. Type your Game title, Genre and Core mechanic, and press Next.
  2. Add a Target audience and Comparable games if you have them, describe What makes it different, and press Next.
  3. Tick the 30-second spoken pitch and Publisher email intro if you need them. Sign in to Ziva if asked, then press Write my pitch.
  4. Press Copy on any version to paste it into a deck, a store page or an email, or Generate another for a new take.
  5. Press Copy Ziva prompt to have Ziva build a small playable prototype of the game.

How to pitch a video game

Lead with what the player does, not the story or the setting. A listener who can picture the first ten seconds of play can judge the game; one who hears three sentences of lore cannot. Then say what makes it different from the games it resembles, and who it is for.

An "X meets Y" comparison places your game quickly, but only when both games are ones your listener knows and the mix tells them something. Follow it with the one thing neither comparison has, or the pitch sounds like a copy.

End with what you want. For a player that is a wishlist or a playtest; for a publisher it is a look at a build or a short call. Keep claims to what is true today: a playable demo, a trailer, a release window you can hit.

One-liner, spoken pitch or email

The one-liner is the sentence everything else grows from. Use it as a store page tagline, a social media bio, a game jam entry summary and the first line of a pitch deck. If it needs a second sentence to make sense, it is not finished.

The 30-second spoken pitch is for events, meetings and anyone who asks what you are working on. At an assumed pace of about 150 words per minute, 30 seconds is about 75 words, so the tool aims for 65 to 80 and shows an estimate. Read it aloud with a timer, because your own pace is the one that counts.

The publisher email intro is short on purpose: a subject line that names the game and its genre, the pitch, what makes it different, where the build stands and one clear request. If a publisher's website has a submission form or guidelines, use those instead of a cold email, and fill in every part in square brackets before you send it.

Example: from your answers to a one-liner

Answers: Lantern Keeper, a cozy puzzle platformer. You carry a lantern that freezes anything it lights and use frozen enemies as platforms. Different because there is no combat and the lantern's light is also your timer.

One-liner: Lantern Keeper is a cozy puzzle platformer where your lantern freezes enemies into platforms, but every second of light burns down the only timer you have.

If you do not have a game yet, start with the game idea generator, then come back here once you can describe the core mechanic in one sentence.

Frequently asked questions

How do you write an elevator pitch for a video game?
Say what the player does, what makes the game different from the games it resembles, and who it is for, in that order. Keep the one-liner to one sentence and the spoken version to about 30 seconds, and end with what you want from the listener.
Is the game pitch generator free?
You can fill in every step without an account. Writing the pitch needs a free Ziva account, and each generation counts toward your Ziva plan.
How long should a game elevator pitch be?
A one-liner is one sentence, ideally under 30 words. A spoken pitch is about 30 seconds, which is roughly 75 words at a pace of 150 words per minute. Time yourself reading it aloud, since speaking speeds vary.
Will the pitch include made-up facts about my game?
The AI is told to use only your answers and to leave placeholders in square brackets for things like build status and your name. Read every version before you use it and change anything that is not true.
How is this different from the game idea generator?
The game idea generator invents random game ideas from word lists. The elevator pitch generator writes a pitch for the game you describe, using your own title, mechanic and angle.
