Seamless Texture Generator: Make Any Image Tileable

Upload a texture and make it tileable: the edges are blended or mirrored so it repeats without visible seams, and a 3x3 tiled preview shows the joins before you download the PNG. This runs in your browser for free. No texture yet? Describe a material and generate a seamless one with AI on your Ziva account.

Step 1 of 3: Mode

How to use it

  1. Choose Make my image tileable to fix your own texture, or Generate with AI to make a new one, and press Next.
  2. To fix your own, press Choose an image or drop a texture on the box. To generate, describe the material and pick Smooth or Pixel art.
  3. Pick Offset and blend edges or Mirror and set the Blend width, or pick 256x256 or 512x512 for an AI texture.
  4. Press Make it tileable, or Generate texture. AI generation asks you to sign in to Ziva first.
  5. Check the 3x3 tiled preview, then press Download PNG, or Open full size for an AI texture.

How the tileable texture maker removes seams

A texture tiles when its right edge continues into its left edge and its bottom into its top. Photos and most drawings do not, so a hard line shows every time the texture repeats.

Offset and blend edges makes a copy shifted by half the width. That copy wraps perfectly at the edges, but has a seam down the middle. The tool uses the copy near the edges, keeps your original in the middle and cross-fades between them over the Blend width, then repeats the same along the height. Your texture keeps its size. A wider blend hides more but can show ghosted, doubled details, so it works best on organic surfaces such as grass, dirt, sand, rock and bark rather than bricks or tiles with straight lines.

Mirror places four copies, flipped left-right and top-bottom, in a tile twice the size. Every edge meets its own mirror image, so it is always seamless, but the symmetry can be visible on distinctive features.

Using a seamless texture in Godot 4

3D: put the PNG in a StandardMaterial3D's Albedo > Texture. Texture repeat is on by default, so raise UV1 > Scale (for example 4, 4, 1) to repeat it more times across a floor. For meshes without good UVs, such as CSG or terrain blocks, turn on UV1 > Triplanar.

2D: on a Sprite2D or other CanvasItem, set Texture > Repeat to Enabled, then turn on Region and make the Region Rect larger than the texture to fill an area. For a UI background, use a TextureRect with Stretch Mode set to Tile; TextureRect ignores the CanvasItem repeat setting.

Frequently asked questions

How do I make a texture seamless?
Choose Make my image tileable, upload the texture, keep Offset and blend edges selected and press Make it tileable. Check the 3x3 preview for seams; if a line still shows, go back and raise the Blend width, or try Mirror.
Which method should I use, blend or mirror?
Use Offset and blend edges for natural, noisy surfaces like grass, gravel or stone, where a soft blend is invisible. Use Mirror when the blend looks ghosted, for example on fabric or patterns, and you do not mind the symmetry or the doubled size.
Is the seamless texture generator free?
Making your own image tileable is free, needs no account and never uploads your image. Generating a new texture with AI needs a Ziva account, and each generation counts toward your Ziva plan's AI usage.
What size should a tileable game texture be?
256x256 to 1024x1024 covers most games; pixel art tiles are often much smaller. A small texture repeats more often across a surface, so the pattern becomes easier to spot: for large floors use a bigger texture or mix in a second one.
Can the AI make pixel art tiles?
Yes. Choose Generate with AI, describe the surface and pick Pixel art. You get a 256x256 or 512x512 texture made to wrap at its edges, and the 3x3 preview shows how it repeats.
